Town Moto X Lawrence Hacking's - Grand Prix de Mud 2017
Blog post photos by Viktor Radics.
On June 11 we were stoked to hold the Grand Prix de Mud with Lawrence Hacking and Husqvarna Canada! Weather was great and we had a solid turnout of riders running all sorts of different machines. We run three different types of races/comps throughout the day so there's usually something for any style of offroad rider or skill level. The Southern Ontario Vintage Trials club organizes and prepares a trials course throughout the grounds of the Mohawk Inn for anyone with a Trials bike in their arsenal. The course looked super challenging this year as well.
The back lawn of the Inn has a grasstrack that winds around the lawn and dips out into the woods rougher area surrounding it. It's a fun and fast track and has lots of room to dice it up with whoever is in front or behind you. This year we were running the following classes: Vintage (Pre 1975) Heritage (1975-83) and Open (Anything) We also had a Mini Bike Class and a Tuxedo class.
The Cross Country race winds through the wooded section of the property and is fairly tight and challenging in spots. This year the Cross Country was run in two classes Vintage/Heritage and Open.
We had a great day of riding with everyone and it was awesome to check out all the vintage bikes mingling with newer stuff. Husqvarna was kind enough to let everyone manhandle a few models from their 2017 line up if you wanted to sign up for a demo ride. You could take it through the single track or around the grass track depending on what was happening at that point.
A really big thank you Husqvarna Canada, Lawrence Hacking, Sasquatch Cycles, The Mohawk Inn, Dual Sport Plus, Biltwell Inc., Deus Ex Machina, Brixton, Treadwell Manufacturing, The Motosocial, Moto Revere, Stance Socks, Fast Times Magazine, Southern Ontario Vintage Trials Group, Joe Rocket, Speed and Strength, Two Wheel Motorsport, Studio Cycle Group, Our Paramedics, Volunteer staff, everyone who helped set up or cleanup, all of the excellent staff at the Mohawk Inn and KOA campground and of course all of our riders who came out and killed it! Looking forward to next year!
